AREE DAY IN TOGO

On the beach and on the grounds of the training center, which we are building in cooperation with help alliance, we planted 10 trees for each of our 10 projects to date.

We now proudly see more than 100 coconut palms, casuarina, mango, sea almond and guaiac trees growing for the environment, for harvesting and for shade.

Some trainees from our program participated as well as official representatives, be it the mayor of Agbodrafon, the chairman of the Chamber of Crafts Région Maritime, Père Patrice (voluntary spiritual advisor) and our employees in the KTGW office.

At the end, everyone was treated to a refreshing coconut by our field supervisor John and a small snack of bean balls with hot chili sauce by our former trainee Gabin.

A successful action, for which we would like to thank everyone involved.

LARGER KTGW OFFICE

The house is on Rue Okeloukoutou, next to point genie and the ground floor serves as the KTGW office.

The large room now offers more space for courses (up to 20 participants). The Saturday courses can now take place in an uncomplicated manner, without dragging chairs beforehand and, above all, in peace.

After the long-established German courses, there is also an English course every Saturday from 1 p.m. and additional workshops from trainee to trainee on their specialist areas in order to pass on some basic knowledge.

Baba started with computer science, followed by Ayité for the week with bookkeeping.

The office also has a smaller adjoining room where, if necessary, psychosocial problems can be discussed discreetly with individual trainees.

Fall 2021

PROMOTED BY

HAND IN HAND FUNDS

The HAND IN HAND fund, a joint initiative by Rapunzel Naturkost and Deutsche Umwelthilfe eV, supports the food processing start-up.

The money will be used to professionalize the lemongrass tea production in the start-up of our 6 graduates in Atoeta, mainly through the construction and purchase of equipment such as precision scales, drying cabinets, cutting machines and environmentally friendly packaging material.

By supporting the start-up, the HiH fund promotes the development and independence of the 6 young graduates of the KTGW training program and makes an important contribution to strengthening the domestic labor market and local food production

Lemongrass harvest, which had already started in October, is now planned to produce a tea bag and loose tea product.

The tea is to be sold directly in Ateota, on local markets in the surrounding area, but also to restaurants and hotels. A part is also intended for sale in Germany.

We thank you for the support and look forward to working with the HAND IN HAND fund

THE TIME HAS COME!

THE ABZ IS COMING

Two years after the laying of the foundation stone in 2019, postponed by the corona pandemic, the construction of our international and interdisciplinary training center in Dévikinme can finally begin

start.

This was celebrated!

A kick-off event was held on July 23, 2021 to celebrate the groundbreaking.   Due to the corona situation, it was a smaller round than planned,   from our sponsor help/alliance: the project manager MC Togo, the traditional boss, our chairman and some others.

STARTUP "2Go" OPENED

Our 8 trainees, who earned their diploma in gastronomy and hotel management, are defying the Covid-19 period.

Congratulations to you all!

With no prospect of employment, they take their destiny into their own hands.

With the support of our association, they were able to open the StreetFoodService 2Go, with Togolese and international specialties near the port of Lomé. There was almost no time for the inauguration because the first guests were already waiting.

With your help, further professionalism will also succeed for our other   StartUps  der  trainees !

Fall 2019

PRODUCTION + SALE OF BAGS AND MORE

In autumn 2019 we were able to sell some of our trainees' products, such as lemongrass tea, at a Christmas bazaar in Cologne. The proceeds benefited our association.

In 2020 the bazaar had to be canceled due to Covid19. Our prospective seamstresses had sewn many colorful bags, which are now available not only in Togo, but also from us on request .

Spring 2020

AWARENESS CAMPAIGN

The young people at the schools lacked understanding of Covid19 for hygiene such as washing hands and wearing masks. Our trainees brought it closer to them - at 16 schools around Aného.

The press and radio followed the campaign in order to spread it further through their media.
